These Dallas Parks and Gardens Offer Tranquil Outdoor Recreational Spaces

If you are looking for outdoor spaces perfect for unwinding, the Dallas area has a lot to offer. Here are some ideas, all within a 30-minute drive or less from our Dallas luxury apartments.

Reverchon Park

Less than a mile away from The Ashton is Reverchon Park, a 41-acre park where you can enjoy some fresh air and recreation. One of the oldest parks in the city, Reverchon Park, is rich in the history of Dallas. It was initially named Turtle Creek Park, then renamed to honor a botanist and member of the La Reunion Utopian Community, Julien Reverchon.

The park offers a variety of activities and areas for sport, including baseball fields and tennis courts. You can reserve pavilions for 15 or fewer people, and other outdoor spaces are available, with some restrictions.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

One of the top botanical gardens in the world, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, is within a 30-minute drive from The Ashton. The open space offers 66 acres of beautiful gardens and arboreta. The Garden is well-known for ground-breaking research in horticulture and includes a life science lab. Among the diverse gardens is A Woman's Garden, which consists of sculptures, an infinity pool, and fountains to delight and inspire you. The Nancy Rutchik Red Maple Rill has over 80 varieties of Japanese Maples adorning a beautiful stream.

Throughout the garden are gorgeous flowers, unique sculptures, and fountains, all masterfully planned to create the perfect outdoor getaway. Buy your tickets in advance and bring your mask for any indoor venues.

William Blair, Jr. Park

Just 15 minutes away lies over 900-acres of outdoor space offering hiking, picnic areas, pavilions, and a fishing pond. Bring your bike or a fishing pole; this park provides a sweet escape from the city, yet offers a beautiful view of downtown Dallas. The pond is stocked regularly and has fishing piers and a walking trail around the lake. Access the Great Trinity Forest on the trails in the park.

Although no events are planned, for now, the park is a popular venue for outdoor functions. Check out their webpage for more information.
