Did you know that Dallas is home more than 158 miles of the country's most scenic and diverse urban hiking and biking trails?
The trails range from nature to off-road bike paths, and those near our Dallas luxury apartments include:
Running along the Oncor power line easement, the Northhaven Trail welcomes thousands of visitors every year. It provides a 2.5-mile bicycle and pedestrian route through North Dallas. The path is relatively flat and straight and features water fountains, rest areas, and bicycle repair stations. Wildflowers add a splash of color, and the ever-popular Cindi's Deli is accessible from the eastern trailhead.
Spanning 600 acres, the Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve offers a scenic slice of Hill Country. It's rich in wildlife and welcomes birdwatchers who come to spot the rare black-capped vireo. The preserve features miles of hiking trails, and has one of the highest elevations in the Metroplex. Towering trees provide shade, and along the way, explorers find butterfly gardens, wooden bridges, and steep climbs.
Found within the L.B. Houston Greenbelt, the L.B. Houston Nature Trail stretches ten miles through towering trees. It's suitable for both beginning and intermediate cyclists. A portion of the trail runs close to the edge of the Trinity River, adding to the beauty. The Dallas Off Road Bicycle Association maintains the path, and riders find markers signifying turns, hills, and more.
Encompassing Bachman Lake, this 3.5-mile trail, sits immediately north of Love Field Airport. Visitors enjoy up-close views of the planes taking off and landing. Trees scarcely line the path, and geese and ducks may be spotted searching for their next meal.
